Tuesday Technique Video #0001 – Coloring Tools – Adding texture and interest with water reactive inks Video
Welcome to our scrapbooking technique video for this week which supports our weekly challenge of adding texture & interest to your handmade embellishments. In this technique, we will be using our Coloring Tools category to add texture and interest with water reactive inks to your die cuts and embellishments. This technique video supports our first weekly challenge. For more information on our weekly challenges, click the link below.
Today’s technique is all about adding texture and interest to your die cut shapes with water reactive inks. And yes, we will be working with Distress Oxide inks from Tim Holtz as well as some great stamps and thin cuts from Close To My Heart. I have used all these techniques in my “Remember The Story” calendar layout below.
Here is a quick summary of each of our 5 examples that we will be using today:
- Stamped Die Cut – Splattering with inks
- Stamped Die Cut – Staining with inks
- Stamped Die Cut – Applying just water to the die cut
- Coloring on a leaf die cut using a water brush and one distress oxide inks
- Coloring a bird image using a water brush and multiple distress oxide inks
If you would like to play along with our video, gather the following supplies (or you can purchase them by clicking on each item):
