I wanted to share last week’s memory journal layouts. These 6×8 layouts are so fun and easy to do. I use these layouts in place of project life and memory planners because I feel like I have so much more flexibility and ability to document more of my everyday life. I find that I can “keep up” with the daily layouts so much easier as it takes me about an average of 15 minutes to do each page which fits right in with my Creative 15 theme for 2021.

TECHNIQUE TIPS: I love the soft pastel colors in this kit and when I use a kit, I try to vary the layout styles in as many ways as I can so that all the pages do not look the same. Below are the techiques used on each set of pages so that they all were unified but didn’t look exactly the same.
COVER:
I used the March layering stamp for the butterflies and then used dimensional adhesive to give them the look of flying around the page. This page was super simple with one sheet of 6×8 patterned paper and a few stamped butterflies in Blue Belle and Ballerina.

CALENDAR:
I used a 4×6 journaling card to create the monthly calendar. One the card, I hand wrote in the dates and also used washi tape to span several days to show certain long term events. I used espresso ink and the March stamp to stamp the March and Welcome Spring onto the scalloped brackets thin cuts. A few stickers, word stickers and enamel dots finished out this page.

MARCH 1 -2:
I started with two 6×8 papers (one toffee cardstock and one ballerina patterned paper). To those, I simply added two strips of washi tape to the top and bottom as well as a zip strip to the bottom. I added in my favorite lined journal pages and a stamped floral image from Stitched Floral that I colored with my tri blend markers (it was cut out on my Brother Cut N Scan machine).

MARCH 3-4:
This is my favorite 2 page spread of the week. I love the soft lines of the hand torn papers at the top and the clean white space at the bottom. A few word stickers & flowers helped finished off these pages.

MARCH 5-6:
Can you say busy? I loved the floral papers in this kit but was stuggling on how to really make them stand out and not overwhelm my photos. My solution was to create a couple of dark focal points to help draw the eye around the layouts (think visual triangle). I use the black acrylic words, Memories together, along with dark stamping of the dates and darker photos to draw the eye through the layout instead of focusing on all the floral busyness.
